Leah Doherty is an award-winning
sports anchor and reporter
for the CBS affiliate, WOIO in Cleveland, Ohio
My Story
Leah is a proud Texas Tech University alum where she graduated in 2018 with a BA in journalism and a minor in electronic media and communication.
After graduation Leah started her reporting career as a nightside reporter and weekend anchor at KLBK News in Lubbock, Texas. From there she gained valuable live experience and moved into the sports department in June of 2020. After one year in sports, Leah made the jump to Madison, Wisconsin where she covered the Packers, Bucks, Brewers and the University of Wisconsin.
In Madison, Leah covered the UW women's volleyball team winning the 2021 NCAA National Championship, Bucks NBA ring ceremony, Packers clinching the No. 1 seed in the NFC, UW's March Madness run and everything in between.
Leah's coverage helped earn NBC15 Sports the "Best Sportscast" award at the 2021 and 2023 Wisconsin Broadcaster Association annual award show.
While in Cleveland, Leah helped launch the
Rock Entertainment Sports Network, where she's served as
a sideline reporter for the 2024 high school football season
and the AHL Cleveland Monsters.
Leah fell in love with storytelling at an early age, and strives to bridge the gap between athletes and fans through human interest stories.
